I'm pleased to say that Passenger, the stop-motion VR film that @vansowerwine & @isobelknowles have been making for the past 18 months is premiering in our hometown next month at the Melbourne International Film Festival! Produced by @pipcampey at @film_camp_films with support from @screenaustralia it’s been an amazing effort from an incredible group of people including music by @cirkoguerrini, compositing by Julia Egerton, props by @madeleinegriffithprops and electronics by @haimamarriott, along with sound design from yours truly. One of the sources that informed @siren__song was this phone recording you can hear. It was taken and sent to me by my brother @js_hq in Pyongyang, North Korea. This is the melody of the song, “Where are you Dear General?” which is played over North Korean cities at 6am, 6 days a week. (Look this song up on YT for the full prog-synth propaganda experience.) James has recently been back to NK with the fantastic photographer @nicasa documenting NK hotels and the people who work in them. They will be releasing their work as a book being put together with the inimitable @darrensylvester. I highly recommend following @hotelsofnorthkorea for a preview and updates of their work.
